For the first time in Australia, Steve Hogarth, the unmistakable voice of Marillion and one of progressive rock's most expressive vocalists, brings his acclaimed solo show, H Natural, to Oxford Art Factory. Known simply as "h", Steve has been the lyricist and lead singer of Marillion for more than 37 years, helping shape one of progressive rock's most celebrated catalogues. Before Marillion, he was a founding member of The Europeans and How We Live, while also collaborating with artists including The The, Julian Cope, Richard Barbieri and Trevor Horn. Born in Kendal in England's Lake District and raised in Doncaster, Steve now lives in Oxfordshire, just around the corner from Marillion's studio, The Racket Club. After more than four decades performing around the world, this long-awaited Australian debut marks a landmark moment for fans. "My desire to play in Australia has been constant for years but sadly, Marillion never found a way to come and break even, so I thought I'd better come on my own." Unlike a traditional concert, H Natural has no set list. Every performance is created in the moment, with songs, stories and conversations shaped by the audience, ensuring that no two shows are ever the same. "The show will go where the audience and I take it. We'll just feel for it. For me, that's pretty scary, but it's always worth the nerves." Throughout the evening, Steve shares stories from his remarkable career, reads from his diaries, reflects on the people and experiences that have shaped him, and performs stripped-back versions of Marillion favourites, solo material, and songs that have inspired him by artists as diverse as Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Rufus Wainwright, Kraftwerk, ABBA and Kate Bush. Honest, spontaneous and deeply personal, H Natural offers a rare opportunity to experience one of progressive rock's most distinctive voices up close in an intimate setting. There are artists who arrive already formed, and others who seem to unfold in public, still becoming. Venna feels closer to the latter. This November, Venna brings that world to Sydney. A Grammy Award-winning South London saxophonist, producer, and composer, Venna has built a language that doesn’t sit neatly inside genre. It drifts between UK rap, drill, hip-hop, jazz and something more open-ended. Less a fusion than a flow state, resisting definition because it was never designed to be contained. He began playing piano at six and took up the alto saxophone at twelve, early enough for music to feel instinctive rather than learned. Since then, Venna’s saxophone and musical sensibility have moved through a widening circle of contemporary artists. His horn work is most clearly heard on Burna Boy’s Alarm Clock from the Grammy Award-winning Twice As Tall, while his broader creative presence has shaped projects alongside Wizkid, Knucks and longtime collaborator Yussef Dayes. Whether audible or unseen, Venna’s contribution often lives in the atmosphere of the record, shaping tone and feeling without asking to be foregrounded. Now, with his debut album MALIK, that presence turns inward. The album moves like a conversation with that identity. Featuring Jorja Smith, Leon Thomas, Smino, MIKE, Cari, and Venna himself, MALIK dissolves the edges between player, producer, composer and voice. Built with collaborators including Rocco Palladino, Elijah Fox, AoD, J Warner, Marco Bernardis and Yussef Dayes, it holds a collective memory inside it. Jazz is present, but it is not the boundary. Neither is R&B, soul, bossa nova or rap. Instead, MALIK feels like something being passed through Venna rather than built by him alone. He describes himself as a vessel of music, a stream of consciousness moving through him while he creates, a life force present in the room. He speaks to a belief that something larger is at work when he makes music, allowing him to stay open

Flyte (UK) is the project of English songwriters Will Taylor and Nick Hill. The pair met at secondary school, eventually settling in Hackney, London. Taylor’s parents were both English teachers and inevitably, various literary influences trickled into the duo’s music- the band taking it’s name from Sebastian Flyte of Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited. To make their fourth album, Between You and Me , Flyte—Will Taylor and Nick Hill—set out to return to something raw and instinctual. Just weeks before joining legendary producer Ethan Johns (Paul McCartney, Laura Marling, Ray LaMontagne) in his rural studio, the duo began writing at a small window table in Taylor’s North East London flat. They wanted to see what would happen if they didn’t overthink their songs, if they simply sang about their lives in the moment—candid reflections on love, fallibility, and staying vulnerable. They didn’t fuss over demos or arrangements; they just wanted to capture the feelings. They knew Johns thrived on intuition, so they let that sensibility guide them from the beginning. The result, Between You And Me , is the most affecting and singular album in Flyte’s discography, a stirring and recognizable map of what it means to come of age as musicians, friends, and people. It suggests just how much one can grow, sprouting even from the darker corners of our existence. ____________________________________________ We acknowledge that this event is held on the stolen lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. For Ecca Vandal, punk was a way in – and a way out. Born to a Sri Lankan family in South Africa, she moved to Australia at a young age, and faced pressure to assimilate. “There were just so many restrictions and limitations growing up in such a strict cultural and religious upbringing,” says Ecca. “When I discovered punk rock, it was so much about expressing yourself against those boundaries, against those things that actually suffocate you. I realized that actually my journey is what I had to talk about. I don't want to see Women voiceless.” Ecca came to punk from jazz training and music school orthodoxy, from weighty first-gen parental expectations, and other places far from the Melbourne home studio where Ecca first screamed her feelings into a microphone. “What I was taught as a child is the exact opposite of like, "Fuck it, I exist and I make noise and I'm loud and I'm going to take up space.” Seeing Ecca’s kinetic energy live, the way she owns the entire frame in videos and as she sings “CRUISING TO SELF SOOTHE” – it’s hard to imagine there was ever a time where she was tentative about any of it. The singer/songwriter remembers “Just being so scared to make noise and say something. I wanted to exist as raw, unapologetic and brash, but also have beauty and poise and refinement at the same time. Those things co-exist. That's what I tried to express with my vocals across this album. That, to me, is freedom.” While punk is the framework of Ecca Vandal’s LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW , it equally bears the marks of her girlhood spent traversing between different cultures: “The music that I was absorbing and listening to as a child was soul, gospel, South African traditional music, Sri Lankan and South Indian music. Then I moved to a very white neighborhood in Australia, and everyone at school was listening to guitar-based music.” As a teenager, Ecca fell in love w

The sultry provocateur of "Agro-Pop", Geordie Kieffer , has announced his first ever headline tour of Australia, set to bring his wild live show Down Under this October. Tickets go on sale Friday 8 May at 9am local time via Destroy All Lines , with presale access available from Wednesday 6 May at 9am local time. Kicking off on Thursday 8 October at Max Watts in Melbourne the run continues to Oxford Arts Factory in Sydney on Friday 9 October before wrapping up on Saturday 10 October at Brisbane's Brightside Outdoors . An impish trailblazer, Geordie crafts hardcore pop bangers that bark and bite, drawing influence from both his questionable past and the city-wide playground of his Los Angeles hometown. His sound is something novel: a sexy and gritty escapade through Pop, Hip-Hop and Electro that dives head first into your brain and just won’t get out. Geordie’s debut album, Just Kill Me Already , and a string of provocative music videos, including fan favourites "Sex Party", "Icon Killer" and "Swinger" , quickly established him as a cult favourite. But it was the irresistible viral anthem "Red Line" that launched him to another level, generating more than 100 million global streams and over 100,000 TikTok and Instagram reel sound uses. Like a charming outlaw lurking on the fringes of pop music, Geordie Kieffer is dangerous and refreshingly unpredictable. His music will no doubt inspire fist fights and flirtation, anger and elation - and straight up melodic infatuation. Don’t miss Geordie Kieffer’s first ever Australian headline tour this October. O’Flynn makes his long-awaited Australian and New Zealand debut this September, arriving with a new album that captures him at a defining moment. For over a decade, O’Flynn has quietly become one of the UK’s most respected producers and DJs, a singular voice in contemporary electronic music, grounded in dexterous production and an instinctive feel for the underground. His catalogue runs deep, shaped by curiosity, and marked by collaborations with artists such as Bonobo and Barry Can’t Swim. Releasing music across Ninja Tune, Blip Discs, and his own imprint Hundred Flowers, O’Flynn’s work has earned support from tastemakers including Four Tet, Ben UFO, Gilles Peterson, and James Blake. A pivotal moment came via Bonobo’s Fabric mix, which led to the collaborative track Otomo, a quietly monumental piece, and later saw O’Flynn join Bonobo on tour. Around the same time, he released Shimmer, a collaborative album with Frazer Ray via Ninja Tune’s Technicolour imprint, praised by DJ Mag as “a perfect cocktail of soaring emotions and bottom-heavy bass.” O’Flynn completed a five-week sold-out residency at London’s Phonox, followed by a sold-out headline show at KOKO and a sold-out UK live tour in April, marking a clear step up in scale and demand. In 2023, O’Flynn became a resident on Rinse FM, further cementing his role as both curator and craftsman. More recently, he delivered the inaugural release on Barry Can’t Swim’s Earth’s Only Paradise label, two tracks that stretched from disco-lit dancefloors to sharp-edged club pressure. Now, O’Flynn returns with Kairos, his third full-length album, released July 17 via his own Panthus label. Named for the ancient Greek concept of the decisive moment, when conditions align, Kairos feels exactly that: a record where club energy meets patience, detail, and atmosphere. Music built for immersion. This debut AU & NZ tour marks the

Detroit techno pioneers Octave One bring their live show to Oxford Art Factory on Friday, August 28. Born from the minds of Detroit’s Burden brothers, Octave One have spent more than three decades shaping the sound of techno from the inside out. Led by Lenny and Lawrence Burden, the project first emerged in 1990 with ‘I Believe’, featured on the landmark compilation Techno 2: The Next Generation alongside the next wave of Detroit innovators. Since, they’ve taken their live show around the world, built a legacy through their own Detroit-based label 430 West Records and delivered records that continue to ring through dance floors globally. From releases like ‘Empower’, ‘Nicolette’ and ‘The X-Files’ to the global classic ‘Black Water’, Octave One’s influence runs deep, with their tracks carried through sets by the likes of Carl Cox and Jeff Mills. Their live show remains the stuff of legend - a full-force collision of funk, house, soul and raw Detroit energy, powered by their mighty analogue rig, The Mothership. This August, they bring it back to Australia with Trinity on opening duties. ____________________________________________ We acknowledge that this event is held on the stolen lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. The midwest, particularly the part of the midwest Eric D. Johnson (USA) hails from, is a largely flat expanse. Zipping through it on the highway, you’ll see cities and towns rise up in the distance, but blink and you’ll miss other man-made rejoinders to horizontal living dotting the landscape, hill after hill, built from the refuse of the past: landfills. Some of these hills make for great sledding spots, parks, and trails. Others turn organic waste into compost. The Landfill, Fruit Bats’ June 12, 2026 album from Merge Records, is something else entirely: a mountain dominating the landscape of Johnson’s heart. This being a Fruit Bats record, one scales that mountain to take in the view, to see the future spread out as wide and endless as the midwestern plains. “But the mountain that gives us this vantage point,” Johnson says, “is made out of the trash that we’ve created, the collective weight of the past and where it’s taken us.” When he details that view on title track and lead single “The Landfill” — “a holy vision / of what could be / and couldn’t be / and could have been” — it’s thrilling to hear him sent soaring by a full complement of instruments. But what’s truly stunning is how, in his recontouring from could to couldn’t to could have been, he has lost none of the vulnerability that was brought to the foreground of his songwriting by 2025’s solo outing, Baby Man. Over the course of his now 25-year career under the moniker, most of Eric D. Johnson’s output as Fruit Bats has been the product of patience and fine-tuning. His songs, to borrow a phrase, are slow growers, given life on albums that encompass long stretches of time and memory. Baby Man changed that — he disallowed himself from referring to material he’d been working on before laying the album down, utilising the morning pages technique of stream-of-conscious

Destroy All Lines & The Neighbourhood Present Inertia 'Emerald Whisper' Australian Tour Described by Rolling Stone Australia as "one of Australia’s most compelling heavy acts right now" , Sydney smooth-metallers Inertia are stepping into their next chapter. Fresh off the release of their first new music in two years, the powerful new single "Emerald Whisper" , the band have today announced The Emerald Whisper Tour, taking their immersive live show around the country this July and August. Having recently lit up stages across Australia at Good Things Festival, supported Poppy nationally and joined Northlane on a regional run, Inertia back it up with "Emerald Whisper". Blending modern metalcore with dark-pop sensibilities and clean production, "Emerald Whisper" is a bold new statement from the band operating at the peak of their powers. Inertia have forged their path as ones to watch in the global heavy scene, and they tightened their grip on modern metalcore with the release of their debut album Second Shadow. The quartet bend and break the boundaries of their genre, targeting fans of Loathe, Spiritbox and Thornhill with flashes of SZA and The Weeknd. The band bring elements of dark pop and soul to the forefront as they explore the darkest corners of metal music and add to it their own sprinkling of emo pop. The quartet's expanding catalogue has amassed millions of streams worldwide and seen them share stages with an impressive list of heavy music heavyweights, including Polaris, Dayseeker, Bury Tomorrow, Holding Absence, Caskets, Thy Art Is Murder and Thornhill to name a few.
