Across the last few years, 1tbsp, the Meanjin-born, Gadigal-based producer, songwriter, DJ and Dottidot label founder, has quietly assembled one of electronic music's most distinctive universes – a glossy, hyper-coloured landscape where reggaeton drums collide with toy-box synths, club music sparkles with pop sentiment, and every release feels like a portal into somewhere slightly unfamiliar. Following a huge run of international touring in the first half of the year, including appearances at Coachella, a North American Bubble Tour and a residency at London's Phonox, 1tbsp now returns home to Australia with Bubble Tour - a live show that expands his ever-evolving world. Originally known through his Grammy-nominated alt-indie project Golden Vessel, Maxwell Byrne launched 1tbsp in 2021 as an outlet for stranger ideas. What began with the kanashī EP soon evolved into a fully realised creative universe, culminating in the release of his debut album Mosquito Love and later the acclaimed Megacity1000. Released in 2024, Megacity1000 arrived like a transmission from a parallel metropolis - equal parts club record and pop experiment.
