DECEITS (US)

Emerging from Los Angeles’s thriving darkwave and post-punk underground, DECEITS are set to make their long-awaited Australian debut this December with two exclusive headline performances — Friday December 4 in Sydney and Saturday December 5 in Melbourne. Blending melancholic atmosphere with soaring hooks and explosive live energy, DECEITS have rapidly become one of the most talked-about modern acts in contemporary post-punk. The trio’s emotionally charged sound has earned them a devoted international cult following, standing apart from the genre’s colder conventions with a style that is equal parts passionate, romantic, and fierce. ♱ “Too romantic for the punks, too fierce for the goths. We play passionate post-punk.” ♱ Formed in late 2021, the band draws inspiration from legendary acts including The Cure, Human Tetris, Motorama, The Chameleons, For Against, New Order and Bauhaus, while forging a sound unmistakably their own. DECEITS consists of Kevin “Puppy” Moreno (vocals, bass guitar, keyboards), Skylar Francise (guitars) and Francisco Saenz (percussions). Following a string of acclaimed singles, DECEITS released their debut album “If There’s No Heaven…” independently in November 2023. Featuring standout tracks such as “Drowning In An Empty Sea” and “Mi Amor, Mi Vampira”, the record propelled the band onto major stages across the United States, including a headline performance at Los Angeles’s iconic El Rey Theatre. The band has also shared stages with revered names including The Chameleons and Diva Destruction, while earning a coveted appearance at 2025’s Cruel World Festival. With their immersive soundscapes, danceable melancholy and emotionally intense performances, DECEITS Australian shows promise to be essential events for fans of modern post-punk, darkwave and goth music. An Evening With Kristin Hersh (US)

Celebrated songwriter Kristin Hersh will return to Australia this November for a run of intimate headline shows in support of her forthcoming new album Sugar On Blackstone, out 18 September via Fire Records. Renowned for her fiercely emotional performances and uncompromising songwriting, Hersh’s Australian dates will see her bring songs from Sugar On Blackstone to audiences across the country alongside highlights from her extensive catalogue. Following on from 2023’s Clear Pond Road, Sugar On Blackstone is a darker yet delicately rendered collection exploring life and death, memory, survival and human connection. Deeply personal and emotionally expansive, the album reflects on the lasting bonds between musicians, family and friends, and the way certain sounds and places can suddenly bring someone vividly back into focus. New single ‘Dark-Eyed Junco’ offers another striking glimpse into the album, pairing lucid melodies with deeply autobiographical storytelling. Recorded at Stable Sound Studios, the album features longtime collaborators Rob Ahlers (50FOOTWAVE) on drums and Pete Harvey (Throwing Muses) on cello. Long celebrated as one of alternative music’s most singular voices, Hersh continues to deliver performances that are both intensely intimate and disarmingly powerful - a rare opportunity to experience one of modern music’s most influential songwriters up close. Rowena Wise

ROWENA WISE - Bad Things Feel Good* Album Launch (Band show) Presented by Double J, Beloved Records & Remote Control Records: This October and November, Rowena Wise takes her full band on the road for 10+ dates across Australia to support her sophomore album, Bad Things Feel Good *. The record is a tender, point-blank look at the pain of transformation and what it means to be flesh and blood — from Melbourne to Brisbane, Sydney to Hobart and beyond. Written over two years of near-constant touring and recorded live over three days at The Ratshack in Collingwood with producer Rob Muinos (Julia Jacklin, Didirri), the album traces heartbreak, estrangement, and the knottier growing pains of adulthood through candid poetic lyricism and a raw live production. The songs hold space rather than demand attention, and live, they hit even harder. Since debuting in 2018, she has amassed over 10 million streams, earned airplay across triple j , Double j and Unearthed , and toured extensively across Australia, the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada, supporting artists including Holy Holy, Ball Park Music, Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey . Her 2024 debut album, Senseless Acts of Beauty , was praised by CLASH Magazine as “ carefully etched indie folk ” and shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize . Her highly anticipated sophomore album, Bad Things Feel Good *, a tender, point-blank meditation on transformation, is out August 7, 2026 via Beloved Records.
