Arriving in Australia for the first time, legendary London-based Dub Poet, Dancehall Selector, Rapper, Producer and NTS Resident James Massiah makes his Melbourne debut at The Night Cat this September.
Performing a two-hour hybrid Live + DJ set, James Massiah will seamlessly blur the line between club night and live performance.
Drawing on over a decade as one of London's most respected selectors as a legacy NTS Radio resident, he'll traverse dub, dancehall, grime, UK rap, acid house and countless sounds beyond. Interwoven throughout the set will be live performances of material from his acclaimed EP’s True Romance, Bounty Law and Contact High, alongside collaborations including tracks with Lord Tusk, Massive Attack, Phil Asher and other selections across his catalogue.
James Massiah's latest EP, Contact High, was released in collaboration with DJ GAWAD via Jordanian label Drowned By Locals. The project sees James move further towards the UK underground club sound he has helped shape over the last decade, pushing rap closer to the dancefloor through a fusion of grime, dancehall and jerk production.
It follows his biggest release to date, Bounty Law, which features collaborations with acclaimed UK producers Cajm, 3o and Cold (best known for their work on Jawnino's 40). Across the project, James explores hedonism through a grime, dancehall and trance-infused lens. Prior to that, he released the aptly titled and entirely self-produced True Romance EP in 2024, examining modern romance and intimacy while challenging relationship conventions.

After a decade of silence, acclaimed Australian four-piece World’s End Press have announced their long-awaited reunion, returning to the stage for a special one-night-only performance at The Night Cat on Friday November 6, 2026.
Known for their distinctive blend of synth-pop, live dance, and atmospheric electronica, World’s End Press quickly established themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting live acts in the early 2010s. The band’s debut album released on Liberation Records received widespread critical acclaim, with ‘album of the week’ praise from Triple J, Triple R and FBI Radio.
Over their original run, the band performed at some of Australia’s most prestigious festivals, including Falls Festival and Laneway Festival, and toured extensively both nationally and internationally with the likes of Primal Scream, Hot Chip, Phoenix and Cut Copy. Their dynamic live shows and genre-blurring sound earned them a devoted following.
Since their hiatus, members have pursued various creative projects, but the influence of World’s End Press has continued to resonate with fans and peers alike.

There are artists who arrive already formed, and others who seem to unfold in public, still becoming. Venna feels closer to the latter. This November, Venna brings that world to Melbourne.
A Grammy Award-winning South London saxophonist, producer, and composer, Venna has built a language that doesn’t sit neatly inside genre. It drifts between UK rap, drill, hip-hop, jazz and something more open-ended. Less a fusion than a flow state, resisting definition because it was never designed to be contained.
He began playing piano at six and took up the alto saxophone at twelve, early enough for music to feel instinctive rather than learned. Since then, Venna’s saxophone and musical sensibility have moved through a widening circle of contemporary artists. His horn work is most clearly heard on Burna Boy’s Alarm Clock from the Grammy Award-winning Twice As Tall, while his broader creative presence has shaped projects alongside Wizkid, Knucks and longtime collaborator Yussef Dayes. Whether audible or unseen, Venna’s contribution often lives in the atmosphere of the record, shaping tone and feeling without asking to be foregrounded.
Now, with his debut album MALIK, that presence turns inward. The album moves like a conversation with that identity. Featuring Jorja Smith, Leon Thomas, Smino, MIKE, Cari, and Venna himself, MALIK dissolves the edges between player, producer, composer and voice. The Los Angeles alt‑pop outfit, built out of backyard chaos and shaped into something that’s quietly taken over playlists and festivals alike, are making their Australian debut this November and December with their first‑ever headline run on Australian soil.
Fronted by Sam Boggs, Evening Elephants went from guerrilla pop-up shows in LA to viral NYC street takeovers without ever feeling like something manufactured. That rawness translated: over 80 million streams to date, with breakout single "Snow on The Bluff" surpassing 45 million of those alone and earning co-signs from Shaun White, Nina Dobrev, and Ana de Armas. O’Flynn makes his long-awaited Australian and New Zealand debut this September, arriving with a new album that captures him at a defining moment.
For over a decade, O’Flynn has quietly become one of the UK’s most respected producers and DJs, a singular voice in contemporary electronic music, grounded in dexterous production and an instinctive feel for the underground. His catalogue runs deep, shaped by curiosity, and marked by collaborations with artists such as Bonobo and Barry Can’t Swim.
Releasing music across Ninja Tune, Blip Discs, and his own imprint Hundred Flowers, O’Flynn’s work has earned support from tastemakers including Four Tet, Ben UFO, Gilles Peterson, and James Blake.
A pivotal moment came via Bonobo’s Fabric mix, which led to the collaborative track Otomo, a quietly monumental piece, and later saw O’Flynn join Bonobo on tour. Around the same time, he released Shimmer, a collaborative album with Frazer Ray via Ninja Tune’s Technicolour imprint, praised by DJ Mag as “a perfect cocktail of soaring emotions and bottom-heavy bass.”
O’Flynn completed a five-week sold-out residency at London’s Phonox, followed by a sold-out headline show at KOKO and a sold-out UK live tour in April, marking a clear step up in scale and demand.
