Ky Newman is a content creator and producer on the podcast Emergency Intercom.
atlgrandma is the artist Liam Hall, a key figure in Los Angeles’s leftfield pop community: pensive, digitally curdled music that blends rock, rap, pop, and dance music in new absurdist ways. As a producer, Hall has helped shape the sounds of fellow artists like Willow, Snow Wife, Dorian Electra, The Hellp, D4ine, Izzy Spears, ericdoa, and Frost Children. Frequent collaborators include pop masterminds Lil Aaron and Y2K.
Prior to LA, atlgrandma lived in the suburbs of Atlanta, where his family had resettled after being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Youtube was his playground: He learned to play guitar, produce music, shoot videos and develop basic fine motor skills all at once. Releases like 2019’s "Even If We Don’t Get It Together" and 2022’s "Angelhood" further explored the brain rot of the chronically online, and detailed the dead-end promises of Western culture with a big Cheshire Cat grin.
“Nightmare Blunt Rotation”, which arrives August 9, is a perfect distillation of atlgrandma’s sincerely demented, dementedly sincere worldview. Recalling Odelay-era Beck, it’s also a masterful piss-take of the kinds of punishers you can and do meet at parties in Los Angeles. “Reaper”, which comes in September, combines the blown-out sound of vintage bloghouse with a surprisingly compassionate encounter with Death himself.
Earlier this year atlgrandma toured with Dorian Electra and Frost Children, and co-produced their triple-billed rave-up “We Invented Love,” which landed just in time for summer. His newly launched, semi-regular warehouse event series with fellow provocateur Ky Newman falls somewhere between party and performance art, and returns after Labor Day.

For ten years Melbourne’s Spike Fuck has existed more as a messy myth than an artist –
sporadic works forever poised on the precipice of triumph, rumours of death or insanity and
so on. Spike’s foray into music in 2015 served a cultural fantasy, not by any overarching
sense of ambition, but rather a would-be, cosplay pop star arrested by his own devices and
whose melancholy wove through unlikely cultural circles. His sole body of work, The
Smackwave EP (Partisan Records), addressed themes as literal as the title suggests: drug
use, gender identity, religion and existentialism. Soon after its release, Spike was swept up
in the whirlwind of unexpected success, moving from underground warehouse parties to
being draped in high fashion and editorial photoshoots accompanied by interviews, in which
he gave unrelenting and uncensored details of his life.
On the precipice of breakthrough, Spike disappeared. Bootleg uploads and comments on old
YouTube videos discussed possibilities that seemed wild but believable, given Spike’s
nature, fueling rumours of monastic solitude, relapse, or reinvention as a LinkedIn-worthy
daytime professional. Only the most sincere have kept his myth alive.
The arrival of his long-awaited debut full-length record evidence , out October 2nd 2026, is a
brazed proof of life statement. A carnal, confident record, it offers no explanation for Spike's
absence, and abandons the unmitigated pursuit of knowing his 'true self' that drove his
earlier fixations. Rather it honors presence in the body: feeling over rationalization. The
material on evidence touches on elements of new wave, glam, soul and doo-wop, citing Pere
Ubu, New York Dolls, The Temptations and Bettye Swan as key influences. His concern is

Mietze Conte is a Vienna-born artist, songwriter and producer whose emotionally charged blend of electronic music has earned a devoted international following. Since emerging in 2022 with debut single bunnybunnybunny Mara has built a distinctive sonic world that balances euphoric club influences with intimate, deeply personal songwriting.
Following a prolific run of releases- including his debut album Mietzee in 2024-and sold-out shows across Australia alongside 1tbsp, plus performances throughout Europe, Tokyo and Seoul, Mara entered a new creative chapter in 2025. His single knows introduced a more vulnerable, introspective direction while retaining the playful, genre-defying production that has become his signature.
In March 2026, Mara released his latest EP, 'wufwufwuf', a ten-track project that further expanded his sound and showcased his most emotionally direct songwriting to date. Seminal Seattle four-piece Mudhoney return to Australia this October to play a bunch of club shows and headline 4ZZZ FM’s “Zed 51” Festival. The grunge pioneers also add a handful of New Zealand dates for the first time in over a decade.
Since forming in 1988, Mudhoney quickly became the flagship act for legendary independent label Sub Pop and to date has released over 25 official primary releases spanning over three decades.
Their provocative debut single ‘Touch Me I’m Sick’ and 1992 hit ‘ Suck You Dry’ cemented them as pioneers of the late 80’s early 90’s grunge explosion, with their sound an instrumental foundation of the era. In 2023 they released their 11th studio album ‘Plastic Eternity’ showing no signs of slowing down.

When Robert Forster’s ninth solo album, Strawberries, was released in May 2025, Robert was adamant that when he toured the album in Australia, it had to be with the Swedes that played on the record. Knowing their brilliance in the studio and on stage from previous European tours, he was determined to bring this particular show to Australia.
To showcase the power and beauty the band brings to the Strawberries songs – the album listed at #7 in MOJO’s Top 75 Albums of 2025 – the setlist stretches back through the best of Forster’s acclaimed solo career and his illustrious time in The Go-Betweens.
