Aug. 2026, 19:00–22:00 Loosely inspired by _Story of the Eye_ by Georges Bataille, Brazilian director Janaina Leite, one of the leading voices on today’s Brazilian scene, explores the relationship between theatre and pornography. The piece follows a group of characters who become readers of Bataille’s work, unpacking passages on the discovery of sexuality and connecting them to their own personal histories. This portrayal of a form of eroticism rooted in excess and transgression brings together fifteen performers, both professional and amateur, including sex workers. Audiences are invited into a radical experience where theatrical fiction, live music and explicit pornographic scenes intertwine. _História do Olho_ confronts, head-on, our relationship with shame and desire, taboos and impulses. Yet its performative transgression never slips into mere provocation; the work remains deeply attentive to understanding and consent.
