Bast Hippocrate | Joyaux lourdement sous-estimés

Aug. 2026, 16:00–17:00 Moving through tenderness, fusion, dependency, violence — with perhaps the aim of reaching a fragile state of reconciliation – _Joyaux lourdement sous-estimés_ is a pas de deux, a love duet on the edge of collapse, a sensual and ambivalent embrace that explores the extreme territories of desire. With this second creation, following _LoveLettersOrNot_ (2021), Bast Hippocrate reveals a choreographic language that feels utterly raw and intimate, confirming his emergence on the international scene. “I wanted to understand how two bodies can hold each other without losing themselves.” Within a fragmented soundscape haunted by recorded breaths and traces of pop music, the performers drift between surrender, euphoria and dizziness. Shaped in part by the experience of chemsex, the piece transforms the reality of gay intimacy into a physical, blazing and deeply shareable fable. À la découverte des Jazz Funerals de La Nouvelle-Orléans

Dates: - Sa., 29. Aug. 2026, 16:30–19:30 Dans certaines cultures, faire ses adieux à un être cher mêle recueillement religieux et célébration festive. C'est le cas à La Nouvelle-Orléans, en Louisiane, avec le jazz funeral ou « funerals with music ». La Ville de Genève invite enfants et adultes à découvrir cette tradition le samedi 29 août le temps d'une après-midi, de 16h30 à 19h30. À l’issue de la partie officielle, en présence de Christina Kitsos, Maire de la Ville de Genève, vous aurez l’occasion de découvrir cette tradition funéraire, présentée par Walter van de Leur, professeur de jazz et de musique improvisée à l’Université d’Amsterdam et expert de renommée internationale, puis de participer à la reconstitution d’un jazz funeral. Le cortège funèbre sera animé par le brass band « La Strada ». Munissez-vous d'un parapluie ou d'un foulard coloré, accessoires traditionnels agités au rythme de l’orchestre, pour prendre part pleinement à la procession festive.
