KIRJAILIJAVIERAILU KIRJASTOSSA
Kauko Röyhkä on pitkän linjan kirjailija ja rockmuusikko, joka on vuodesta 1980 lähtien ärsyttänyt, järkyttänyt ja ihastuttanut Suomen kansaa lauluillaan ja romaaneillaan.
Kauko Röyhkän ensimmäinen albumi Steppaillen (1980) on suomalainen rock-klassikko, ja romaani Kaksi aurinkoa oli Finlandia-palkintoehdokkaana vuonna 1996.
Röyhkä on kirjoittanut myös muun muassa elokuvakäsikirjoituksia, tv-draamaa, kolumneja ja levyarvosteluita.
Vuonna 1995 Röyhkä sai Suomi-palkinnon ja vuonna 2009 valtion taidepalkinnon.
Tämä monipuolinen lahjakkuus ei osoita hyytymisen merkkejä.

Pauli Hanhiniemi & Ville Rauhala M.A.D. is the top artist at the Pihlajavesi Youth Association summer closing carnivals.
The band's repertoire includes songs from the eras of Kolmas nainen, Perunateatteri, and Hehkumo, combining guitar, double bass, and two-part vocals.
The warm-up and cool-down sets are handled with a stylish touch by the Q-Quintet, delving into Finnish rock classics and forgotten gems.

Keuruulaislähtöinen elokuvaohjaaja Mari Mantela vierailee kulttuuritalo Kimarassa, jossa esitetään hänen tuorein lyhytelokuvansa After Ego, joka kuvattiin Keuruulla. Näytöksen jälkeen ohjaaja kertoo elokuvan tekemisestä ja vastaa yleisön kysymyksiin.
Tilaisuuden yhteistyökumppanina toimivat keuruulainen Mielen Tie -yhdistys sekä Keuruun kaupungin kulttuuripalvelut.

Mari Mantela (1978, Keuruu) opiskeli kameratekniikkaa ennen elokuvaohjauksen opintoja 2000-luvun alussa Taideteollisessa korkeakoulussa (nyk. Aalto-yliopisto).
Mantelan lyhytelokuva Kuinka käänsin Rabobeston kylkiasentoon (2022) voitti useita palkintoja kansainvälisesti sekä kotimaassa, jossa Mantelalle myönnettiin mm. Risto Jarva-palkinto.
Mantelan keskipitkä elokuva En Autobiografi (2017) voitti useita kansainvälisiä palkintoja ja kilpaili muun muassa Palm Springs Shortfestissä, Brooklyn Film Festivalilla sekä muilla huippuluokan festivaaleilla.

Syyskuussa Jazz Jkl Collectiven laulusolistina loistaa sielukkaan tummaääninen Nina Mya. Ihon alle menevistä tulkinnoistaan ja tyylipuhtaasta taituruudesta kiitelty laulaja on koostanut illan ohjelmiston hänelle tärkeimpien naisäänten musiikista ja tarinoista.
Nina Mya tuo Jazz Jkl Collectiven solistivieraana uuden kulman jazzlauluun. Konsertissa on luvassa Myaan vahvasti vaikuttaneiden laulajien – kuten Carmen McRaen, Dinah Washingtonin, Billie Holidayn ja Laila Kinnusen – tunnetuksi tekemiä klassikoita, joihin johdatellaan kertomuksilla heidän vastoinkäymisistään ja onnistumisistaan niin elämässä kuin rakkaudessakin.
Nina Mya (s. 1989) on jazzlaulaja, joka on saavuttanut vankan aseman Suomen musiikkikentällä sekä yhtyeenjohtajana että vierailevana solistina. Tummaäänisen Myan vahva tekninen taituruus juontaa jazzista, mutta sointi ja ilmaisun syvyys ammentavat soulista ja gospelista. Mya on saanut kiitosta energisenä esiintyjänä ja aitona tarinankertojana. Vuonna 2012 Pori Jazzin Vuoden Taiteilijaksi valittu laulaja on julkaissut omalla nimellään neljä sooloalbumia sekä yhden levyn yhteistyössä UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestran kanssa.

Kauko Röyhkä on pitkän linjan kirjailija ja rockmuusikko, joka on vuodesta 1980 lähtien ärsyttänyt, järkyttänyt ja ihastuttanut Suomen kansaa lauluillaan ja romaaneillaan. Kauko Röyhkän ensimmäinen albumi Steppaillen (1980) on suomalainen rock-klassikko, ja romaani Kaksi aurinkoa oli Finlandia-palkintoehdokkaana vuonna 1996.
Röyhkä on kirjoittanut myös muun muassa elokuvakäsikirjoituksia, tv-draamaa, kolumneja ja levyarvosteluita. Vuonna 1995 Röyhkä sai Suomi-palkinnon ja vuonna 2009 valtion taidepalkinnon. Tämä monipuolinen lahjakkuus ei osoita hyytymisen merkkejä.

Kauko Röyhkä is a long-time author and rock musician. His novel Two Suns was a Finlandia Prize nominee in 1996.
Röyhkä has also written, among other things, screenplays, TV drama, columns, and record reviews. In 1995, Röyhkä received the Finland Prize and in 2009 the State Art Prize.
This versatile talent shows no signs of cooling down.
The event serves as a pre-show for the artist's solo performance at Kimara on the same day at 4 pm. Tickets will be available for purchase on the Keuruu City online store, at €20 each.

Turpo's Thursday activities are a free exercise session open to all, aimed at 1-6-year-old children in home care and their caregivers. During the sessions, families can play freely or perform guided exercises at the gym hall. No registration is required, just show up and join the fun! The sessions are organized in cooperation with Keurusjumppa ry.
The activities are held every other Thursday on even weeks from 9.00-10.00 at the Keurusjumppa hall (address Keuruuntie 25).

The exhibition features works by seven contemporary artists that capture moments spent in the presence of trees, listening to them and honoring them.
Trees are timeless; they live alongside us and grow old with us. We don’t always notice them because they are such a fundamental part of the Finnish landscape. Trees are sometimes invisible or taken for granted. They are yard trees, rows that brush the horizon, or sometimes outright guardian, spirit, or sacred trees. We rake their leaves, hammer birdhouses onto their trunks, and trim the smaller border trees.
Trees speak to us in their own ways—whispering, rustling, hissing, and crackling. When the trees are silent, the forest is silent too. Each of us hears them in our own way. “Mysteries” can hide beside and among the trees: the rustling of feathers as birds flit about in their branches, insects coiling into spirals, moss-covered stumps and mounds beneath which massive root systems are revealed, as well as fairy tales, stories, and old beliefs about trees, forests, and their guardians.
Many of the works in the exhibition explore atmospheric liminal spaces, the transition from evening to night, the dawn, the process of metamorphosis, growth, or how our subconscious shapes what we see, allowing us to perceive exactly what we want and need. (Eija Keskinen.)
