100 libraries - thousands of encounters is the largest author tour of the year. The project funded by the Ministry of Education and Culture will organize 100 author visits to libraries across Finland during 2026. The visiting locations have been selected based on applications from libraries. We are pleased that Multia Library was selected as one of the visiting locations. The visits are coordinated by the Reading Center.
The author visits bring together literature creators and readers, and the aim is to get readers of all ages to discover different forms of reading and literature, and to inspire interest in literature across all language and age groups.
We warmly welcome author Ann-Christin Antell as our guest to Multia Library on Monday, September 14th from 5-6 pm.
The event is free and open to everyone. Welcome!

How was the Multia village center built and developed into a modern municipal center? How do the fashions of different eras of construction and architecture appear in the urban landscape of Multia's center? Why has Multia's old town center been selected as a nationally significant built cultural environment in the National Board of Antiquities' inventory? And why have Multia's public buildings from the 1980s and 1990s been assessed as regionally significant?
On a free walking tour, you will get to know the building heritage and architectural gems of the Multia village center, especially the area of the nationally significant old town center, under the guidance of Nina Moilanen, a building researcher from the Museum of Central Finland.
The tour starts in front of the Sinervä School (Junttilantie 2).
Free admission.
