Puistokävely - Hotelli Pier 4 kattopuutarha ja Tove Janssonin puisto

Dates: - Wed, 19 Aug 2026, 18:00–20:00 Aloitamme puistokävelyn Hotelli Pier 4:n kattopuutarhasta, jonne pääsee nousemalla hissillä hotellin aulasta 4:een kerrokseen ja edelleen portaita ylös. Katolla on hieno luonnon puutarha ja komeat näköalat Eteläsatamaan ja Katajanokalle. Jatkamme kävelyä Katajanokan vankilan puistoalueen läpi Merikasarmin puistoon ja Laivaston puistoon. Puistokävely päättyy kesällä 2026 peruskorjattuun Tove Janssonin puistoon, johon on pystytetty tärkeän kansallisen merkkihenkilömme, Muumipeikon patsas. Keskustelemme muumeista, puutarhan merkityksestä ja Tove Janssonista. Puistokävely lähtee Hotel Pier 4:n aulasta, osoitteesta Katajanokanlaituri 4. Reitin pituus on noin 2 km. Roast Fest 2026

Research Vessel Aranda's Open Doors

Dates: - Thu, 27 Aug 2026, 12:00–19:00 Experts from the Finnish Environment Institute (Syke), the Finnish Meteorological Institute and the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) will be on board to answer questions about the Baltic Sea and marine research. Guides from Harakka Nature Centre will also introduce visitors to the fascinating wildlife of Helsinki's coastal waters. Visitors can climb up to the bridge, or visit the research deck, where experts will present topics including Baltic herring research, hazardous shipwrecks, underwater noise, and monitoring the Baltic Sea using high-resolution satellite observations. Although the Baltic Sea is Aranda's primary research area, it has also carried out scientific expeditions in the North Atlantic and the waters of the Antarctic.
