Red Nose Company: About The Rite of Spring – a Ritual for Four Clowns
This performance is an unusual and surprising show inspired by Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. The clowns dance their own choreography to music written for them.
This performance is an unusual and surprising show inspired by Stravinsky’s famous Rite of Spring. Four clowns explore this great musical work and its many interpretations.
They give themselves fully to the task. In the show, the clowns dance their own choreography to music written especially for them.
The goal is to create a ritual that strengthens the feeling of connection — without sacrificing a young girl ever again. Also no middle aged woman have been harmed in the process.
The first performance of The Rite of Spring in 1913 caused a scandal. It appeared at a time when the world was heading towards the First World War.
The Rite of Spring broke many artistic traditions and has influenced Western art perhaps more than any other work.
The performance is full of physical, wordless comedy.

Klovnit haluavat räjäyttää kaikkien tajunnan musikaalikentällä. He päättävät luoda täydellisen musikaalin.
Klovnikaksikko Secret (Amira Khalifa) ja Tiktak (Nora Raikamo) haluavat räjäyttää kaikkien tajunnan musikaalikentällä.
Nuoruuden toteutumatta jääneet haaveet ja kaikki uran aikana tekemättä jääneet musikaalien pääroolit mielessään he päättävät luoda yhdessä klovnimuusikko Delta Airwavesin (Jussu Pöyhönen) kanssa täydellisen musikaalin, jonka säveltäminen on Deltan suuri unelma.
Hamutessaan kohti teatterikentän taivaita klovnit lipsahtelevat vääjäämättä kohti maallisten tomumajojensa rajallisuutta. Miten tavoitellaan täydellistä, kun jalka ei enää taivu spagaattiin eikä nouse korvien korkeudelle?
Klovnit joutuvat kohtaamaan sen armottoman tosiasian, että ruumis rapistuu eikä elämä jatku ikuisesti.
Klovnitrio etsii täydellisellä matkallaan opastusta sumerilaisen rakkauden ja sodan jumalatar Inannan manalaan laskeutumisen myytistä.
Heidän ainoa vaihtoehtonsa on laulaa sisäiset tuntonsa kertakaikkisen kuuluviksi ja tanssia ruumiinsa rajat näkyviksi. Eihän heillä ole enää muuta menetettävää kuin huumori.

Sami Lukkarinen is a Finnish painter of pixelated art, with detailed surface texture, and an organized composition. He creates modern impressionism, examining today’s visual culture in a balanced aesthetical way.
Luis Gispert | Attack Decay
Luis Gispert, a New Yorker, presents environments that exist between tropical atmosphere and spatial futurism, utopia and dystopia. In his paintings, the lifecycle of sound becomes a visual experience.

Näyttelijät Timo Ruuskanen ja Tuukka Vasama ovat huikean suosittu klovnikaksikko, jotka tunnetaan saumattomasta yhteispelistään ja oivaltavista esityksistään. Frankenstein on heidän leikkisä tulkintansa Mary Shelleyn klassisesta tarinasta. Saamme tavata hirviön – tottakai – mutta myös kaksi hullua tiedemiestä, jotka johdattavat meidät läpi esityksen.

Don Quixote tells the story of a Spanish middle-aged man who loses his wits and decides to become a knight-errant. Together with his loyal companion Sancho Panza they ride along, seeking to help people in need. Underneath the comedic surface, the story has a rebellious undertone that encourages people not to kneel before evil authorities.
