“A phenomenal tribute to the golden era of R&B. An outstanding show.” - Steve Hallum, Jump Events
Back by popular demand
There is a very specific kind of R&B that still owns a room: the bassline is deep, the harmonies are clean and the chorus arrives like everyone has been waiting for it. The RnB Collective brings that feeling back to Boisdale with a live set built around the 90s and 00s records people still know by heart.
This is the era of slow jams, silk-smooth hooks and songs that moved between bedroom soul and dancefloor confidence without missing a step. Expect classics inspired by TLC, Usher, Blackstreet, Donell Jones and Ne-Yo, reworked with polished vocals, tight groove, rich harmonies and soulful solos.
With musicians connected to the acclaimed RnB Orchestra, the show has the weight of players who understand the material from the inside: how to let a slow jam breathe, when to sit back in the pocket and when to bring the room up. It is nostalgia, yes, but not museum-piece nostalgia. These songs still move.
Set in Boisdale’s intimate live music room, The RnB Collective is made for groups, celebrations, date nights and anyone who wants R&B with proper musicianship behind it. Expect the hooks, the harmonies and that dangerous moment when one person starts singing and the whole room follows.

Shakatak’s unique fusion of jazz-funk and pop made them one of the most influential bands of the 80s. From dancefloors to airwaves, their music became a soundtrack to the decade, with hits like "Night Birds" and "Easier Said Than Done" still instantly recognizable today. Despite over four decades in the spotlight, Shakatak’s sound remains as fresh as ever, thanks to their signature blend of smooth vocals, tight rhythms and soulful keyboard melodies. Their live shows are a masterclass in musicianship, overflowing with the same effervescent energy that first brought them fame.
This is a rare chance to see Shakatak in an intimate venue where you can truly appreciate their groove-infused brilliance up close. Whether you’re a long-time fan or discovering them for the first time, prepare for an evening of timeless music that perfectly balances cool sophistication with irresistible funk.
“This music still glows as brightly as that first hearing...Shakatak aren’t just a band, they were the soundtrack to our lives.” – Ronnie Scott’s House Magazine (UK)

The Christians came out of Liverpool with something sharper than ordinary pop-soul: gospel-rich harmonies, elegant arrangements and songs that looked directly at the Britain around them. Fronted by Garry Christian, whose deep, burnished voice remains the band’s centre of gravity, they bring that catalogue to Boisdale for a night of soulful British songwriting with real bite.
Their 1987 debut album The Christians reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and produced a remarkable run of UK Top 40 singles including "Forgotten Town", "Hooverville", "When the Fingers Point", "Ideal World" and "Born Again". The band’s version of "Harvest for the World" reached the UK Top 10 in 1988, with proceeds going to charity, and remains one of their most loved recordings.
Expect a set shaped by that rich late-80s sound: socially conscious lyrics, smooth soul phrasing and choruses that still land with quiet force. From "Ideal World" and "Forgotten Town" to "Harvest for the World", "Hooverville" and "Born Again", this is music with melody on the surface and steel underneath.
Decades on, The Christians remain a distinctive voice in British soul-pop, still touring with Garry Christian at the helm and a catalogue that has aged far better than much of the era around it. Their songs do not just trade in nostalgia. They still ask questions, still carry weight and still sound built for a room that listens.

“Exceptional voice and unique and soulful artistry...” - Blackburn International
Nate Simpson has played Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Berry Gordy in Motown the Musical in the West End, Simba in The Lion King in Paris and Young Bob Marley in Get Up, Stand Up! at the Lyric Theatre. He has performed at Ronnie Scott's, the London Jazz Festival and the Natural History Museum, earned BBC Introducing support, appeared on national television and radio, and shared stages with Beverley Knight, Jessie J, Boy George and Jacob Collier. The West End background is not incidental, it means the performance is built around the voice and the song rather than spectacle.
Kings of Soul is his own show, a live band set drawing from the catalogue of artists who defined soul music across three decades: Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Al Green, Lionel Richie, George Benson, Earth Wind and Fire and The Four Tops. The choice of repertoire is deliberate and the sequencing matters. These are not standalone hits dropped into a medley but songs chosen for how they sit together and what they ask of a vocalist.
Expect a full live band and a set that moves between ballad and groove without losing the thread. Simpson has the range and the stage experience to carry this repertoire properly. The room will confirm it.

Janet Kay made history as the first British black female artist to enter the UK Top 40 with a reggae single. Her iconic falsetto on"Silly Games", produced by Dennis Bovell, became a cultural milestone and remains one of the most cherished tracks in Lovers Rock. With its soaring vocal line and hypnotic groove, the song cemented her status as a pioneer of the genre and a symbol of British reggae’s golden age.
Carroll Thompson brought a soulful intimacy to Lovers Rock with her inimitable voice and emotive songwriting. Her debut album, featuring enduring classics like "I'm So Sorry)" and "Hopelessly in Love", sold over a million copies and was recently named The Greatest Lovers Rock Album of All Time by Mojo Magazine. Blending gentle rhythms with lyrical depth, her music defined the sound of a generation.
Together, these two legendary artists shaped the very essence of Lovers Rock. Their live performances are a masterclass in melody, harmony and heartfelt storytelling, offering a rare chance to experience the timeless elegance of British reggae performed by its most iconic voices.

'This guy is so good he should be arrested!' - Hugh Masekela
Oreste Noda grew up in Matanzas, Cuba, started out on trombone and found his real voice on the congas. Sambroso’s own biography places him among Cuban acts including Ibrahim Ferrer of Buena Vista Social Club, and that matters here: this is not a Buena Vista show built only from the outside in.
In London, Noda assembled the Cuban party collective Sambroso Sambroso and built a reputation that got him handpicked for Hugh Masekela and Jazz Jamaica All Stars' 2004 UK tour alongside Gary Crosby, Denys Baptiste and the Mercury-nominated Soweto Kinch. Eight years followed with Ska Cubano, touring from Tokyo to New York. Back in London he put together the seven-piece Cuban All Stars to do justice to the album that started it all. The Buena Vista Social Club record won the Grammy for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album and is one of only two non-English-speaking albums ever included in Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. With most of the original members now gone, this is as close as it gets.
Expect son, rumba, salsa and timba drawn from Buena Vista Social Club, Afro-Cuban All Stars and Celia Cruz, played by musicians who know this repertoire from the inside. The rhythm section alone is worth the ticket.

You know how this goes. The first line lands and before long the whole room is singing. Neil Diamond wrote songs that belong as much to the audience as they do to the stage, and A Beautiful Noise leans straight into that.
Fronted by Fisher Stevens, this show is built around presence and connection, not imitation for its own sake. Backed by a five-piece band, he moves through the material with a natural ease, letting the songs carry the weight.
Expect a run of favourites including "Sweet Caroline", "Cracklin’ Rosie", "Forever in Blue Jeans", "Love on the Rocks", "Hello Again", "I Am… I Said", "Song Sung Blue" and "I’m a Believer", each one arriving exactly as you want it to.
Diamond’s catalogue has always sat comfortably between pop and rock, built on strong melody and direct emotion. This show keeps that simplicity intact, giving the songs space to do what they’ve always done, bring a room together.

Saxon Sound System started in Lewisham in 1976 and spent the next fifty years becoming one of the most significant forces in British music, which is not an overstatement. They pioneered the fast-chat MC style that gave birth to jungle, drum and bass, UK garage and grime. They launched Maxi Priest, Tippa Irie, Smiley Culture and Papa Levi. In 1988 they went to Jamaica and defeated opponents on their home turf, something no UK sound had done before. In 1992 they won the UK Cup Clash. In 1994 they became the first UK sound system to win the World Clash. Jazzie B credits them as a key influence on Soul II Soul. Massive Attack invited them to curate the 2008 Meltdown festival. Chuck D, KRS-One and Wycliffe Jean were all stopped in their tracks by Saxon cassette tapes. David Rodigan has been saluting them for decades.
On Saturday nights at Boisdale, Musclehead, Sean M, Victor V and Sir Allan Brando bring that history to the first floor bar. The format is exactly what Saxon has always done best: the latest and the classic, mixed live with MCs on the mic and shout-outs bookable on the night for anyone celebrating. Boisdale has Jools Holland as Patron of Music, a live programme that runs seven nights a week and a NEXO sound system installed because the music demands it. Mi-Soul Radio has Gordon Mac MBE, Kiss FM in its DNA and thirty years of soul, house and R&B running through everything it does. On Friday nights the two come together on the first floor and the result is exactly what you would hope for.
The selectors rotate through the Mi-Soul roster each week, which keeps the sets fresh without ever dropping the standard. Deep soulful house one Friday, classic R&B the next, but always played by someone who has a genuine relationship with the music rather than a playlist and a laptop. “Odyssey’s music still brings that timeless disco magic to any dancefloor.” Disco Fever Magazine
Odyssey remain one of the defining vocal groups of the late 1970s and early 1980s, shaping the era with chart-topping tracks such as Native New Yorker, Going Back to My Roots and Use It Up and Wear It Out. Their blend of smooth harmony, New York club groove and touches of funk and Latin rhythm carried their music from the disco boom into the global charts.
Across changing line-ups and decades of touring, the core spirit of Odyssey has stayed consistent: polished vocals, rhythmic clarity and a catalogue that continues to be embraced by audiences of every generation. 'We went on stage and the place erupted. They all thought it was Errol Brown. The show went down fantastically well and that night the band asked me to become their new singer. I've been with them ever since.' - Kennie Simon
Hot Chocolate are one of just three acts, alongside Elvis Presley and Diana Ross, to have had a UK chart hit in every single year of the 1970s. Twenty-five Top 40 singles. "You Sexy Thing" in the Top 10 across three separate decades. "So You Win Again" at number one in 1977. A performance at Prince Charles and Lady Diana's pre-wedding reception at Buckingham Palace in 1981. Errol Brown wrote every one of those songs. The band that played them is still touring.
Kennie Simon joined Hot Chocolate in 2010 after a career that had already taken him through Abbey Road studio sessions and Northern Soul. The way he got the job is the best story in the show: a phone call, a flight to Düsseldorf, a crowd that thought Errol Brown had walked on stage. The band asked him to stay that same night. He fronted them for sixteen years across Australia, Abu Dhabi, Europe and beyond, carrying a catalogue that needed no reintroduction to anyone in the room.
Expect "You Sexy Thing", "Emma", "Every 1's a Winner" and "It Started with a Kiss" performed by a man who knows exactly what these songs require and has spent sixteen years proving it. The voice is there. The band is live. The songs do the rest.

“The best ELO tribute on the planet.” — Live Music Review
Few bands balanced orchestration and rock quite like Electric Light Orchestra. Strings, layered vocals and driving rhythm, all moving with a precision that felt effortless. ELO Again build their show around that same architecture, focusing on the detail that made Jeff Lynne’s sound so distinctive.
Their Return to the Blue performance leans into the full spectrum of ELO’s catalogue, from the lift of "Mr. Blue Sky" and the melodic sweep of "Livin’ Thing" to "Sweet Talkin’ Woman", "Shine a Little Love" and "Don’t Bring Me Down". The emphasis is on arrangement and balance, harmonies stacked carefully, rhythms kept tight, and each transition handled with control.
Rather than simply revisiting the songs, the band focuses on how they were built. ELO’s recordings combined classical influence with pop structure and studio precision, and that sense of construction sits at the centre of this performance.
The result is a set that moves with clarity and momentum, staying true to the scale and musicality that defined the original recordings.

'Band of the Year' - Rolling Stone, 1992
Arrested Development sold out Boisdale once already. They're back. In 1993 they became the first hip-hop act in Grammy history to win Best New Artist, beating Annie Lennox, Eric Clapton and Toni Braxton to do it. The same night "Tennessee" won Best Rap Performance. Six million copies of the debut album. Number seven on the Billboard 200. Rolling Stone's Band of the Year. Spike Lee called them for the Malcolm X soundtrack. All of that from a group Atlanta record labels spent three years and five months refusing to sign.
Speech built something that had no real precedent: hip-hop with a live band, rooted in funk, gospel and African tradition, that crossed over without selling out. "Tennessee", "People Everyday" and "Mr. Wendal" were all certified gold singles from the same debut record. Their follow-up Zingalamaduni earned a third Grammy nomination. They put out a new single, "All I See Is Melanin", in 2025. This is not a nostalgia act running on fumes.
Live they perform with a full band and the kind of energy that explains why the last Boisdale show sold out. Expect "Tennessee", "People Everyday", "Mr. Wendal" and deeper cuts from a catalogue that sounded like nothing else in 1992 and still doesn't. Conscious hip-hop with a real rhythm section underneath it is rarer than it should be. This is the genuine article.

“Stephen Triffitt and Mark Adams are the real deal. A perfect tribute to the Rat Pack era.” — The Stage
A well-placed lyric, a dry one-liner and two men entirely at home in the spotlight, Frank & Dean brings the Rat Pack mood to Boisdale’s Saturday lunch with all the ease and good humour you’d hope for. Stephen Triffitt and Mark Adams don’t just sing this material beautifully, they know how it lives: in the phrasing, the timing and the chemistry between songs.
Both starred in the original West End production of The Rat Pack – Live from Las Vegas, which broke box office records and received an Olivier Award nomination. Between them, they have spent years refining these roles, with Triffitt’s Sinatra all poise and command, and Adams bringing the relaxed charm and sly wit of Dean Martin.
Expect classics including "Fly Me to the Moon", "New York, New York", "I’ve Got You Under My Skin" and "My Way", delivered with swing, character and the kind of stagecraft that makes this repertoire endure.
Served alongside Boisdale’s three-course Saturday lunch, it is an afternoon with plenty of style and more than enough sparkle.
