Supporting Savera UK | March and Cultural Event

Dates: - Sat, 29 Aug 2026, 11:30–16:00 We have been invited to support Savera on this annual event. The length of task is longer than usual so just drop in the comments a guestimate of what time you would be available (as much or as little as you wish - all offers of time gratefully received) so we can inform the organisers and they have an idea of how to allocate tasks. There will be refreshments for helpers and they will of course also be able to enjoy the performances! If you want to find out more about the great work Savera UK do, please visit their website www.saverauk.co.uk Event summary: Savera UK is holding it’s annual March to End HBA, which will start from Williamson Square, onto Church Street, then travel up Bold Street to end at St Luke’s Bombed Out Church, where there will be a festival event “Culture at the Bombed Out Church”, with performances from a wide range of diverse artists. Date: Saturday 29 August Times: 12 - 4pm Event start: 12 noon (volunteers will need to arrive at 11.30am for a briefing) Full event schedule will be added to this listing once confirmed by Savera UK. Below are the type of role that we will be doing on the day (please note all of these may be performed by Goodgym): FESTIVAL ROLES Raffle announcement runners Keep an eye on the performers food and drink tent Directing performers to their food & drinks tent Receive the march at the bombed-out church Litter pickers Standby around the event in case people have questions + hold donation buckets Help to clear up G... Parkrun on Holiday: Crosby Parkrun

Dates: - Sat, 29 Aug 2026, 8:45–11:10 This is not a Sticker Saturday event. It is a chance though to tick off the "C" on the parkrun alphabet. Run, walk, jog or cheer at Crosby Parkrun this Saturday. If you want to volunteer, please contact crosby@parkrun.com well in advance. You will also need to be registered with parkrun and have a scannable copy of your barcode if you want to record a time for this event. Course location: The run starts on the beach near Crosby Leisure Centre, Mariners Road, Crosby, L23 6XS. Course overview: The course starts on the beach near Crosby Leisure Centre, giving participants the opportunity to run (or walk) alongside Anthony Gormley’s iconic Iron Men. After an out and back on the beach, the course continues along the promenade with views of the Mersey Estuary on the left as far the Coastguard station, before returning on the grass route towards the Leisure Centre car park for the finish line. Occasionally (at high tide) the course will omit the beach section and start by the car park where the normal beach course finishes.
