We've done a few visits to Leagrave Park in the past and it always looks smart after we're done .
We'll be doing a thorough search for any rubbish that has accumulated since the last time we were at the park, keeping the fields and the river clean and tidy.
Starting by the site of the old bowling green this month (this starts at 10.30 so pleases arrive slightly before for the brief and welcome).

This week we'll be meeting up on Bute Street, opposite the Hat Factory by the giant orange LUTON sign before heading out to our task just past Wardown Park.
Konni of the Luton Orchards Project needs our help there to water some fruit trees in the orchard at the Bide-a-while. With the dry weather the last couple of months it's really critical that these young trees get support while they establish themselves. The task should be fairly simple, ferrying water by the bucket from the Penrose fence and over to the trees!
It's only a short distance to the task so very walkable, we'll just send you off earlier than the runners and catch you up!

We'll be joining the Friends of People's Park to lend a hand on their monthly park tidy sessions.
Tasks will rotate around whatever needs to be done each month to help this park keep its prestigious Green Flag status, that always includes a litter pick to keep it clean and tidy to make sure it's a welcoming space for all local park users, both human and wildlife, but can also involve maintenance of the trees in the orchard.
This one is perfectly timed to start immediately after the Parkrun in nearby Wardown Park so keep on running and head over to People's Park!
When we're done in the park we often head over to Lagoa Café for a well-earned coffee and cake!

Last Sunday of every month is the Dallow Downs and Winsdon Hill litter pick. A one hour litter blitz in a rather large and heavily littered area so there will be plenty for everyone!
There's lots of wildlife on the downs that will benefit from a cleaner environment, including badgers 🦡 and hedgehogs 🦔 as well as the trees and grassland.

We have been asked to help with the Job Fair, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where people from the public will be coming to find out about different job opportunities and to speak to employers.

Wednesday evening group sessions are all about coming together as a big team and heading out together to a practical task out in the community.
This week we're going to the 61 Football Club to do some pre-season painting to smarten up the ground ready for the first league game.-
We meet up at 6:45 at the outdoor stage opposite the Hat Factory on Bute Street, where we say hi to eachother and warm up for the run.
Walkers are welcome most weeks if the distance to the task isn't too far. We might send you off a bit early so we arrive at similar times, so please arrive early and let us know you'll be walking so we can pair you up with someone and set you off.
Bikers are welcome too but make sure you've got lights and are happy riding in the road when we're not on cycle paths.

Luton Wardown Parkrun is a weekly 5k event that gets 100s of participants, and it's all made possible by the efforts of a few volunteers who get out of bed extra early so everyone else can enjoy a well organised free event.
>Help the Hi-Vis Heroes
We are going to give those regular volunteers the opportunity to take a break or enjoy some company, while we take on as many of the volunteer roles as we can and show all those runners what GoodGym is all about in the process. It's win-win for everyone involved.
Important note: Before signing up here on the Goodgym site, please do the following:
Please check the [parkrun volunteer roster](https://www.parkrun.org.uk/lutonwardown/futureroster/) and choose which position you'd like to fill and let the parkrun team know by emailing [lutonwardown@parkrun.com](mailto:lutonwardown@parkrun.com).
All volunteers will receive instruction on their role on arrival.
If you're not already, you will need to [register with parkrun](https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/?section=form) so they can record your name on the roster.
The parkrun team will need to know that you’re coming so please sign up for this mission only once you have confirmed that you’re on the parkrun team’s roster.
