Help CVS find new trustees to support volunteering

Dates: - Mon, 7 Sept 2026, 18:45–20:30 Richmond CVS supports all charity, community and voluntary activity in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. This evening we will be heading out to deliver leaflets for them to promote the Trustee recruitment evening, an essential event to help volunteer groups to find new trustees and continue their good work. We will meet at the Tap Tavern at 6.45 and there won't be a run - we usually cover almost 5km each doing a leaflet drop, but you won't notice the distance amongst chatting to fellow GoodGymers! Looking after our sponsored riverside plot PLUS FITNESS SESSION

Dates: - Mon, 14 Sept 2026, 18:45–20:30 On the second Monday of the month, we head to our riverside plot that we look after for Richmond Council. If you do one task a month, make it this one because we pack it ALL in! 1. Meet at Tap Tavern in Richmond town centre for a welcome and warm-up. There are often groups that head off from this to walk the direct route to the task or cycle there so you don't have to be a runner to join in! 2. Those of us who are running head down to the riverside to run to the plot - it's under a mile and we run at a chatty pace. 3. At the plot we have a lock-up where bikes can be stored and bags can be left in all weathers. For those who want to join in, there will be a fitness session either on the grass out front or in the lock-up, weather-depending. For those who don't want to join in, you can get straight on with the task. All fitness levels are welcome and there will be options for all. 4. We will work together for about 45mins to look after the plot - tasks may include weeding, compost-turning, leaf collecting, bulb planting, watering etc, depending on the season. Please bring gardening gloves if you have them, all other tools are provided and you don't need any experience. 5. We finish the task by clearing up then those who are running head back to the Tap where those who are walking can catch up. 6. Join us for a drink and post-run chat at Tap Tavern before heading off! Helping the Happy Ham Landers

Dates: - Sat, 12 Sept 2026, 10:30–11:30 This is a repeat community mission, which takes place every second Saturday of the month, from 10.30 - 11.30am. The Friends of Ham Lands work with local naturalists and the Council’s ecology officer to identify work that needs doing in the Ham Lands area. Tasks will vary from week to week: sometimes we will be clearing weeds, brambles or other undesirable plants, sometimes tackling Himalayan Balsam by the river (in the summer), sometimes it will be a litter pick. All of these tasks are aimed at (1) maintaining the sheltered open grassland areas and open woodland, to improve the habitat for flora and fauna, and particularly for the local butterfly population and (2) maintaining some of the small footpaths through the scrub that are in danger of being overgrown, to ensure people can continue to enjoy the area. Please wear working clothes including strong and waterproof footwear. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Friends of Ham Lands are not able to provide gloves and hi-vis vest. Please bring your own gardening gloves. If you have a hi-vis vest or jacket please wear it. If you have secateurs or saws please bring them. Children are very welcome but need to be accompanied by an adult. We meet at the corner of Croftsway and Riverside Drive https://goo.gl/maps/78E2thtb5J1f1rP2A *Join us for a trip to the nearby award-winning Swiss bakery after the task if you like!* Cost: Free Bookings: https://www.goodgym.org/v3/sessions/helping-the-happy-ham-landers-e188f37b-113c-4b36-80f8-7b578a39b0c0?utm_medium=openactive&utm_source=default Categories: Running More information: https://www.goodgym.org/v3/sessions/helping-the-happy-ham-landers-e188f37b-113c-4b36-80f8-7b578a39b0c0?utm_medium=openactive&utm_source=default Source: Event information supplied by GoodGym via OpenActive (CC BY 4.0).
