Le Détournement: In the face of this oppression, these women have transformed obligation into an act of resistance. Through voluminous, daring and colorful knots, they have made a symbol of submission an adornment of pride. Heritage: A powerful symbol of dignity and freedom reconquered, the tignon remains an anchor of identity and a major cultural heritage in the Antilles and Afro culture.
