Dates:

Fri, 14 Aug 2026, 18:00–19:00

Agorafonia is a sonic movement piece for three people, its material originating from the groups bodily exploration in urban spaces.

In the piece the spaces under bridges, park lawns, buzzing electronic gates and streets of the city merge into a weave of sounding and moving. The impressions of the city — sensations, echoes, rhythms and observations — interleave into bodily memories and shared experiences.

These experiences are constructed into a four-part composition that combines improvisation with arranged form. This piece moves from listening to the space and its resonances into polyphony, from dispersion to reunions — merging and branching out, where connection emerges through the interplay of different sounds and pathways.

Agorafonia refers to ancient greeks agora, a public space of gathering, as well as the Portuguese word agora (“now”) and the voices sounding together (-fonia). It invites you to listen how the city keeps resonating in people — and how these impressions can momentarily create a collective, living organism.
