This September, Chamber Choir Ireland and Gabriel Crouch come to Westport with a concert of music by Veljo Tormis, Emma O'Halloran, Michael Gordon, and Francisco del Pino. Featuring a delightful selection of Balto-Finnic folk songs by Veljo Tormis, ranging from wedding songs and lullabies to songs about the natural world around us: birds, animals, changing seasons, life and death in the country. Join Ireland's national chamber choir for an evening of music that is both joyful and poignant, quirky and heartfelt. At its heart is a spectacular procession through the streets of Westport, bringing the ancient spirit of Samhain to life through fire, music, masks, performance and immersive visual spectacle. As the procession moves through the town, Westport becomes a stage for a bold contemporary interpretation of Ireland’s ancient Halloween traditions. Combining large scale outdoor performance, live music, visual art and community participation, Westival offers visitors a unique and unforgettable experience during the Halloween period. Westport Sea 2 Summit Adventure Race

Dates: - [Sat 7 Nov 2026](https://www.westportsea2summit.ie/) Two separate races with three categories in both, which will include a mix of road running, cycling, and a mountain hike. The Sea2Summit Spirit caters for the participant that wants a challenge but has not taken part in adventure racing before. Duration time for the fastest will be 2.5 – 3hrs. The Sea2Summit Supreme is for the participant who wants an extra challenge. The hike up and down the front face of Croagh Patrick (Murrisk) will hurt the legs and the back breaking ramps at the Maum climb will definitely test your bike and quad muscles. Duration time for the elite athletes will be around 3.5hrs. As a member of The Chieftains she toured internationally for almost two decades, performing in many of the world’s leading concert halls and collaborating with international artists. Now her solo work returns to a more personal voice a weaving together of traditional and the contemporary music.
