For over four decades, FISHBONE have been one of music's great genre disruptors, fusing punk, ska, funk and soul into a sound that is both socially conscious and musically innovative. This September, the legendary Los Angeles outfit return to Australia for the first time in 15 years, celebrating the 40th anniversary of their groundbreaking debut album In Your Face, performing the record in full alongside fan favourites from across their career. Tickets go on sale Wednesday 5 August at 10am local time via Destroy All Lines.
Their Australian tour arrives in the wake of Fishbone's long-awaited ninth studio album Stockholm Syndrome, released last June and marking their first full-length LP in more than 20 years. The album is a real and powerful statement on modern life and picks up where the band left off in 1995, tackling politically charged themes alongside reflections on life, relationships and redemption. The record continues in the spirit that first made Fishbone one of the most influential alternative bands of the 1980s and 1990s.
In Your Face remains the cornerstone of Fishbone's legacy, the album that introduced the world to Fishbone’s brilliance and helped redefine the possibilities of punk and ska. Earlier this year, the band celebrated the record with a special 40th anniversary reissue, paired with Cover Your Face, a tribute album featuring reimagined Fishbone songs from artists across the globe, including Patrick Stump, Wheatus and Silversun Pickups.
