A magical movie night, curated by the Ubuntu Film Club, will once again light up the darkening beach of Aurinkolahti!
The ultimate beach party kicks off as DJ Abs takes the stage! The sand is your dance floor, so feel free to move! After a couple of hours of dancing, the silver screen comes alive: tonight’s movie is the hilarious buddy comedy LIFE (1999), starring Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence.

Venue: The eastern end of Aurinkolahti beach, Urheilukalastajankuja 1 (on the sand in front of Café Biitsi). Arriving by public transport, bicycle, or on foot, is recommended.

Directed by Ted Demme, LIFE fits right into the same category as classic prison films like Cool Hand Luke or The Shawshank Redemption.
In 1932, two lifers, Ray (Eddie Murphy) and Claude (Martin Lawrence), are sent to the same Mississippi labor camp. Ray is a smooth-talking, petty criminal who managed to drag Claude into his schemes—even though Claude, just moments before, had a promising career in banking and a beautiful wife. The heavy sentence drops for a major crime that these rascals are actually innocent of. The film begins in 1999, as Ray and Claude are being laid to rest, and an old man begins to tell the gravediggers the story of how the duo ended up in the dirt of the labor camp.It might not sound like a joyful story, but it absolutely is!
Expect a wild ride on the wrong side of the law, hilarious banter, and a celebration of friendship.
