On the Night of the Arts, Kanneltalo will become a soft world of the forest floor, where the smell of moss fills the air, poems move and flowers find their place in people’s hair.

Programme

Metsän suojassa (‘In the Shelter of the Forest’) events

17.00: Metsä M, a movement-based and poetic sound art performance in which Katja Luhtala and her collective transport the listener to the heartbeat of the forest.

18.00: Community artwork Metsänpohja (‘Forest Floor’) Susu Rytteri invites the audience to take part in building a living, breathing work of art.

During the evening, you may also get to meet and pet the Forest Cat!

6–7 p.m. Summer Memories sing along

Singing together at Kanneltalo on the Night of the Arts. Come sing alone or with a friend!

Flower decoration workshop

In this workshop, we will create small flower decorations from cut flowers and summer greenery. You can wear the decoration in your hair, use it as an accessory or give it to a friend – and you can take the flowers with you on your Night of the Arts adventures. The workshop will be hosted by Hupsansaa.

Metsän suojassa (‘In the Shelter of the Forest’) – exhibition

Susu Rytteri and the Metsäkissa2044 group will lead the audience to the future of the forest. The exhibition and its side events will combine science, art, journalism, music and theatre – and challenge us to think about what the future of the forest should be like.
