This Ingrian-Karelian themed concert provides its audience with rare gems from the eastern border region. The concert features three different line-ups on stage – DuoCasten & Rinne feat. Artemius, Sattuma Duo and Anne-Mari Kivimäki – as well as dancers Minna Karttunen and Jyrki Haapala. For some of the songs, the artists join forces, making the concert chock full of atmosphere!
The performers this evening are united by their enthusiasm for passing on Karelian and Ingrian cultural heritage to their audiences and future generations. The songs featured in the programme draw on both tradition and the present day.
The concert brings together artists from both similar and different backgrounds – for example, Nina Castén, Arto and Eila Rinne are all from Eastern Karelia. The Flow of Song – From Ingria to Karelia offers a heart-warming evening during which the audience can feel a connection to their roots, their history and one another. The concert presents a great opportunity to discover Ingrian and Karelian music, as well as folk traditions that rarely receive the spotlight.
