The Heart of the Story is Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre’s concert dance program featuring members of their professional Dance Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra. Generally 45-60 minutes, events include performance, company members providing context and inviting feedback, and interactive activities. Cerqua Rivera uses dance as a medium to engage audiences in and celebrate the complexity of the human experience. Heart of the Story shares a thoughtful exploration of culture, race, and ethnicity through the company’s signature welcoming spirit and collaborative energy. Their choreography highlights the dualities found within each person–confidence and doubt, strength and vulnerability, grace and intensity. https://www.cerquarivera.org/ Special Guest Performance: The Douglass Park Performing Company (DPPC) presenting, "He Turned It", with twelve passionate members, is ready to take the stage and make a statement.
