Clark (Chiwetel Ejiofor), owner of a struggling furniture store, has started living in his shop amid a failing marriage. One night, an electricity issue leads him to the basement, where he discovers a mysterious gap in the wall that leads him to the ‘backrooms’ - a vast and ominous labyrinth of seemingly empty rooms. When Clark and some staff disappear while investigating the liminal space, Clark’s therapist Mary enters the mysterious backrooms in a bid to find her patient.
