The exhibition is the result of a long-term immersion in a marble quarry on Naxos. Archipel de pierre is built in direct contact with quarrymen and archaeologists. In the pieces, tools, pigments and dust move the quarry, place of extraction, towards a space of tension where the conditions for the appearance of ancient forms are replayed.
For three years, this research, undertaken in Egypt (Aswan, Karnak), has been deployed between quarries, marble works, archaeological sites and museum spaces (Delos, National Archaeological Museum of Athens, Museum of Cycladic Art, Louvre Museum). His photographic works are printed on the tools of the quarry as much as on Naxian marble.
These photographic volumes allow to preserve a corporality and to inscribe the gestures on natural materials, in order to reactivate the lived space from the point of view of experience.
