Petteri Sariola is known for his energetic live performances, his powerful compositions and his percussive style of playing the acoustic guitar.
A virtuoso guitarist and singer-songwriter, he picked up the instrument at the age of seven, and after several unsuccessful attempts at playing in bands, he developed his own style, which imitates the sound of an entire band with just one guitar.
Sariola has released four solo albums, played over a thousand gigs across Europe, the US and Japan, and attracted millions of viewers on his YouTube channel. His fifth studio album, Voyager, was released in autumn 2025. The album marked the start of a new multi-part rock opera, the next part of which is due to be released in the coming years.
In his music, Sariola effortlessly blends elements of rock and art music. The final instalment of his trilogy of albums consisting of his own compositions, Resolution (2017), received a five-star review in Helsingin Sanomat. He has been granted the Nokia Young Talent award, an honourable mention at the Helsinki Funk Awards, and the title of ‘Guitarist of the Year’ by the City newspaper. He has been interviewed in leading guitar publications, including Akustik Gitarre and the US magazine Guitar Player. He has opened for artists such as Tori Amos (USA), Andy McKee (USA) and Rodrigo y Gabriela (MEX), and has performed alongside Jon Gomm (UK), Mike Dawes (UK), Elastinen, Robin and Jenni Vartiainen.
