The Alliance Française of Beijing is organizing an artistic residency in September 2026 with Lorraine Thiria, a French photographer and painter. Lorraine Thiria’s artistic approach is centered on the exploration of matter or materials (murals, plants, minerals, etc.), in an essentially abstract form, with a reflection on memory and time. This residency will lead to the production of a new exhibition, presented in the Franco-Chinese friendship exhibition room of the Alliance Française de Pékin, located on the campus of the Beijing University of Languages and Cultures. This hall, inaugurated in June 2025, hosts high-level multicultural artistic exhibitions throughout the year and is gradually becoming a reference point for artistic and cultural dialogue in Beijing.
