This exhibition continues the body of work presented in Hyvinkää in 2025, returning to the Finnish national epic Kalevala from a contemporary artistic perspective.
Rather than directly illustrating the stories of the epic, the works reinterpret its myths, characters, and cultural memory through images, materials, and personal experience.
“Reinterpreting Kalevala” is both a way of looking again at a classical text and a reflection on identity, memory, and tradition.
In Helsinki, the works encounter a new context and contemporary cultural experience, inviting viewers to rediscover the Kalevala and consider its meanings today.
