Welcome to meet the master folk dancer Antti Savilampi and hear about his over 50-year career!
Antti Savilampi tells in his brand new book about his career and the phases of Finnish folk dance. Along the way, there has been dancing, teaching, choreographies, international encounters as well as preserving traditions and daring to renew - not forgetting the joys and mishaps that have happened on the dance floors.
Antti has had a close connection to Jyväskylä and especially ISOn Tanhuujat since 1974. At the event, you will also hear about his work with the Huutokatrilli, which the audience and fiddlers love. In the summer of 2026, Huutokatrilli was included in the National Inventory of Living Heritage.
Former folk dancer and chairperson of the Jyväskylä-Seura association Helinä Mäenpää will interview Antti Savilampi. Cultural producer and dance teacher Jussi Kaijankangas will talk about the autumn activities and hobby opportunities of ISOn Tanhuujat.
At the end of the event, there will be time for audience discussion.
