**"The prospect of spending two months on the move across the Nordic countries, away from my daily routine, without a computer, carrying only my Hasselblad camera, rolls of film, and my sketchbook, is incredibly inspiring to me."**
— _Elene Usdin_
Equipped with her camera and sketchbooks, photographer, graphic novelist, and illustrator Elene Usdin will travel across the Nordic countries for two months using low-impact transport (train, bus, and ferry). Along the way, she will gather landscapes, textures, stories, imaginaries, and lived realities that will inspire her forthcoming graphic novel, Prairies.
The research and creative process documented in her travel journal will be shared with the public in real time through the **Polarsteps app**.
**A collaboration between the instituts francais of Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland**.
