In the footsteps of his great-grandmother, born in Gothenburg, Sweden, the French photographer and musician Victor Paimblanc explores the history of his family origins and that of a woman he knew only through the photographs she left behind.
During an artistic residency in Sweden in August 2026, supported by the French Institute of Sweden, Paimblanc retraces his family’s journey through a new series of photographs. Through his research and travels in Sweden, he explores the connections between family history, memory and place, while reflecting on photography as a means of transmission and remembrance.
