The 41st Helsinki Comics Festival is held on the weekend of 19–20 September 2026.
The free and open event is held at Stoa Cultural Centre in Itäkeskus! This year's festival theme is "Together", and the festival artist is Emilia Laatikainen , who has created the visual identity of the event.
The festival programme includes interviews with comics artists, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions and, of course, a comics market for publishers.
In sync with the theme ”Together", several artist collectives and pairs will be participating – not only from Finland but also from Sweden, Germany, Latvia and Slovenia. The following artists will be participating: CBK (SE), Keski-Suomen Sarjakuvaseura (FI), Kuš! comics (LV), Kutikuti, Plenty, Pokuto, Stripburger (SI), Tusen Serier (SE), Wormgod (SE), Katja Tukiainen and Matti Hagelberg , Kaisa and Christoffer Leka , and Iriini Kalliomäki and Kiira Mukka .
The guest list will be completed during spring.
Traditionally, Helsinki Comics Festival also includes the self-publishing event Zine Fest , where the Most Heavenly Zine and the Most Heavenly Webcomic prizes will be awarded again this year. The invited guest of Zine Fest is the Top Secret Boob Mermaid Collective, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026.
The third Kids’ Comics Fest will be held in Stoa on Friday, September 18, 2026. The comics market, artist interviews and panel discussions will focus on children's perspectives and comics made for children. Admission to both events is free!
