Welcome to the Jyväskylä Art Museum during City of Light! Discover works by Jyväskylä-based graffiti artists alongside paintings by Helene Schjerfbeck from the Nordea Art Foundation. Along the way, you may encounter a few luminous surprises. Festively illuminated Local Nomad, former lump ball, welcomes event visitors to the museum!
The exhibitions are open to the public free of charge on Friday, 25 September 2026. The museum will be open exceptionally late, until 10 pm!

Graffiti City
Graffiti City brings together Jyväskylä graffiti artists from different generations, from the 1990s to the present day. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the local history of graffiti, explores its multifaceted forms of expression, and shows how graffiti can transform into sculpture, printmaking and installations.

Schjerfbeck X Nordea Art Foundation
The exhibition presents five rarely seen together works by Helene Schjerfbeck from the collection of the Nordea Art Foundation. Schjerfbeck is one of the most highly regarded artists in Finnish art and a pioneer of modernism. The works on display span almost the entirety of her artistic career, offering glimpses into its different phases, from early historical subjects to introspective portraits.
