The Jyväskylä Dance Festival 2026: MOVING NORTH – tanssielokuvia Pohjolasta

The programme features eight dance films in which movement serves as the central element of cinematic storytelling. Four of the films are Sámi productions from Sápmi, spanning Finland, Sweden, and Norway, and explore themes of identity, cultural heritage, and questions of land ownership. The remaining films examine the changing realities of the North through the lenses of the climate crisis, diminishing snow cover, and melting ice landscapes.
