The film takes us on an adventure into the depths of the water and through the maze-like archipelago. Those who travel the sea encounter its many faces – including a mistreated friend. The story is carried forward by Minun Mereni sea ambassadors Irina Björklund, Martti Suosalo, and Taneli Mäkelä.
The theme song Minun Mereni, created by songwriters Timo Kiiskinen and Timo Hietala, is performed by Irina Björklund and the women of Värttinä. The maritime music for the film was composed by a group of talented young musicians assembled by composer and educator Pasi Lyytikäinen from the Sibelius Academy: Erke Eriksen, Jenni Isoaho, and Airi Salmela.
