Join the Marquette Park Music Program for a free concert! James Dewitt Yancey, better known as J Dilla, fundamentally shaped the modern sound of hip-hop and electronic production before his premature death from a chronic illness--handily incorporating jazz sounds and timbres into a wholly modern aesthetic. Come watch the Marquette Park Junior Sextet perform songs by this legendary musician and composer.
