How do you tell the story of fifty years of festival memories in a single song? That is the challenge taken up by Collectif BPM. To celebrate La Bâtie’s jubilee, Catherine Büchi, Léa Pohlhammer and Pierre Mifsud have devised a participatory musical celebration where the solemnity of commemoration happily gives way to the pleasures of collective singing. Lovers of infectious choruses, absurd humour and well-aimed in-jokes are in exactly the right place.
Drawing on memories gathered from those who have shaped and lived the Festival over the decades, BPM create a true home-grown anthem. Joined by composer Andrès Garcia, the collective revisits fifty years filled with discoveries, emotions and unforgettable moments, weaving them together in a joyful collage of references and melodies. For one evening, Le Béaba de la Bâtie becomes a giant choir. Instead of blowing out candles, let’s raise our voices and sing La Bâtie’s anthem at the top of our lungs.
