*IN PERSON REGISTRATION ONLY*We are offering an afternoon of free guided canoe paddles on a first come, first served basis. This is open to all paddling levels with the minimum age being 3 years; children under 35 lbs must bring their own lifejacket. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. We will have a sign-up station at the boat house (3000 W. Argyle) where folks can add their name to the available time slots starting at 12:45pm. Each paddle can accommodate up to 9 people. Folks who are waiting on land are welcome to explore the park and visit the boathouse. Paddles will be from 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM in 45-minute increments, as shown further below. Each 45-minute session will include an orientation teaching basic paddling skills, safety considerations, and will provide all necessary equipment (life jacket, paddle, canoe).1st paddle:1 to 1:45pm2nd paddle: 2-2:45pm3rd paddle: 3-3:45pm Wear comfortable, quick drying clothing, such as gym wear. Bring water and snacks. The Chicago Park District's RiverLab program is a series of educational events and activities dedicated to reconnecting residents of Chicago with their river.
