_Habanera_, the _Toreador Song_, _Soave sia il vento_: under the direction of Gábor Takács-Nagy, the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève bring two operatic masterpieces into vivid dialogue. Mozart’s theatre of love – poised between irony, desire and illusion – unfolds through a selection of arias from _Così fan tutte_, performed by a cast of six singers. In contrast, the fiery passion of Bizet’s _Carmen_ surges through the orchestral suite by Rodion Shchedrin, in which the orchestra gives voice to the opera’s most iconic themes.
