The mesmerizing meditative works of classically trained Basinski are often created through a striking combination of analog tape manipulations and various keyboard instruments. Basinski draws inspiration for his compositions from artists such as John Cage, Steve Reich, and Brian Eno. The artist’s best-known release, the four-part The Disintegration Loops, was built from Basinski’s earlier 20-year-old recordings, which he sampled using the tape loop technique.
