Have you ever wondered what other celebrations happen around the world on your birthday? The Basic Pitches, Zürich's musical improv crew, turn that question into a full evening of live, unscripted entertainment. Here's how it works: a birthday is pulled from the audience, and the performers uncover real celebrations, traditions, and festivities that take place around the world on that exact date. Three options are presented — and the audience votes on which one becomes the story. From there, it's all improvised: an original musical, songs and all, built live on stage and inspired by the history and character of the celebration you chose. No script, no rehearsal for that particular story — just a live band, quick wits, and whatever weird and wonderful tradition the world hands us. Whether you're an improv regular or have never seen a show like this before, it's an easy, joyful, laugh-out-loud way to spend a Friday night.
