Join us for one last ride down the Thunder Slide before we replace it as part of the repairs and upgrades at Village Square Leisure Centre. We’re throwing it back to 1994 with retro admission pricing, a DJ, décor and more. Date: Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026 Time: First swimming session 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Second swimming session 2:30 – 6 p.m. Cost: $4 per person. (Ages five and under are free) The pool will be cleared at 1:30 p.m. for cleaning and to allow a second group of swimmers to access the pool at 2:30 p.m. Children seven years of age or under must be accompanied by a responsible person (minimum 14 years of age). The responsible person must be in the water and within arm’s reach of their ward while at our facility, including while riding the Thunder Slide. Other activities will be offered at the facility including crafts for young children and sports in the gymnasium. This event is expected to reach capacity, so we’re encouraging people to check out Village Square Leisure Centre anytime before Aug. 30. The pool is open seven days a week.
