El Cultivo de la Mente is a performance film by the artist duo Blüten & Papaya, divided into three acts, with a live performance of the soundtrack by Milan Conic on piano. The film centers on a stranded man who devotes himself to self-imposed tasks in support of nature on a solitary island. It interrogates human logic in relation to natural processes and cycles, as well as humanity’s engagement with its own will. Composer and pianist Milan Conic musically immerses himself in the protagonist’s inner world and interprets it live. His composition emerges in direct dialogue with the images, opening up a musical perspective on the character’s inner state.
Blüten & Papaya is an interdisciplinary artist duo formed by Georgi Sarkezi and Eva Stöflin. Their artistic practice combines audiovisual media, performance and textile- and material-based work. They operate at the intersection of ecological thinking and contemporary cultural processes, bringing together diverse artistic methods in experimental projects.
