Running from Friday 25th - Sunday 27th September 2026, The Galway International Oyster Festival is a citywide celebration of oysters, seafood and Galway’s famous hospitality scene – with the main events free for locals and visitors to the city to enjoy. Featuring the World Oyster Opening Championship live on the street on Saturday afternoon, with competitors from all around the world. Expect pop-up street food market and live entertainment on the street, as well as free talks, shore walks, and exhibits on our maritime culture, heritage and community, exploring the journey of water from catchment to coast. There is something for everyone at the 72nd Galway International Oyster and Seafood Festival.
