Building on the focal themes WORK ON BIODIVERSITY – Biodiversity Strategy for Eastern Linz (September 10th) and Industrial District–Port of Linz – For a Different Approach to Urban Development (September 11th), the association SCHWEMMLAND and partners present a diverse two-day program.
The program opens at the Climate Oasis with a brief introduction to the goals and approaches of WORK ON BIODIVERSITY – Biodiversity Strategy for Eastern Linz, a project funded by the City of Linz Climate Fund. The presentation will be given by Prof. Dr. Thomas Hauck of Studio Animal-Aided Design Berlin. Afterwards, participants are invited to join a guided tour through the port area, visiting selected sites where the project identified opportunities and developed measures to promote biodiversity.
On the second day, visitors can join a short garden tour with Christoph Wiesmayr, followed by presentations by architecture students from the University of Arts Linz. They will present concepts for sustainable urban development in the Industrial Port Area, developed as part of their semester projects. The program concludes with a garden theater performance and a garden celebration featuring music by the duo Wird scho Wean.
