It all starts at 3:00 PM at the Lentos Kunstmuseum with a premiere. Hemma Schmutz (Director of the Lentos Kunstmuseum) and Gerfried Stocker (Artistic Director) invite guests to the opening of NEGOTIATING HUMANITY – Award-Winning Works Exhibition, which for the first time brings together the projects of the winners of the Prix Ars Electronica and the European Union’s S+T+ARTS Prize and takes on the festival theme.

At 5:00 PM sharp, Brigitte Hütter (Rector of the University of Arts Linz) and Manuela Naveau (curator of this year’s Campus) welcome guests in the courtyard of the University of Arts Linz and open this year’s Ars Electronica Campus Exhibition, in which more than 30 universities from around the world are taking part. In parallel, the Sound Campus of the University of Arts Linz invites visitors to acoustic experiences as a platform for experimental sound art.

Things continue at 6:00 PM at the Francisco Carolinum (FC), where Alfred Weidinger (Scientific Director of OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH) invites guests to the opening of the exhibitions No applause. no life. no pain. – Claudia Larcher, Read the Room – Ana María Caballero and Collection Francisco Carolinum – 3 Blockchains, one Collection. Also opening are the Ars Electronica Features Exhibition, on view only during the festival, and the FESTIVAL WALK. The latter starts at OK Platz and leads via several stations to the Francisco Carolinum as well. In terms of content, it opens up another chapter of the theme exhibition under the title FESTIVAL WALK: Negotiating the Real – The Desire to Believe.
