When we negotiate, we keep spaces open rather than close them through certainty or persuasion. We resist closure and remain with ambiguity. We dwell on the threshold. In such in-between spaces, where what is at stake refuses to be settled, ghosts appear. They return because something remains unresolved. They carry memories, histories and desires that continue to seek recognition. They animate absences and make visible what usually escapes perception. They inhabit thresholds where categories blur—self and other, past and present, human and non-human. The five works in this program tell unusual ghost stories in which the boundaries between worlds become permeable and negotiation remains open.
