Mouse.mp4 is a hybrid short film exploring the meaninglessness of existence in digital space. Its protagonist is a mouse cursor—an anthropomorphic character going about its daily routine in a digital world, recycling files and dismissing endless cookie requests. Amid distractions, repetitive tasks, and deadpan humor, the cursor is increasingly confronted with the emptiness of its fragile reality, embodied by a glaring blue void that slowly but inevitably catches up with it. The film reflects contemporary media consumption both through its subject matter and its narrative structure. It unfolds through a series of self-contained episodes, drawing on the fragmented storytelling conventions of platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels. At the same time, its exploration of meaninglessness in everyday internet use serves as a unifying thread, connecting these fragments into a cohesive narrative.
