Join Andrew Herzog for a screening of his award-winning film Deer Hunter. The event consists of a 30-minute screening followed by a 15-minute conversation. In Deer Hunter, Herzog intertwines archival footage, family home videos and AI-generated imagery to reflect on masculinity, migration, family and identity.
Moving between Italy and the United States, the film traces the artist's family history while questioning how personal memory, national mythology and technological image-making shape our understanding of the past. Blurring the boundaries between documentary and speculative fiction, Deer Hunter offers a personal meditation on ancestry, belonging and the cultural narratives passed from one generation to the next.
Andrew Herzog is an interdisciplinary artist, designer and filmmaker whose work spans installation, film, photography, interactive media and public art. His practice explores the intersections of technology, memory, ecology and social participation. His work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the National Museum of Art of Romania, Arquipélago – Centro de Artes (Portugal), VO Art Museum (Beijing), the Franklin Institute (Philadelphia) and A4 Museum (Chengdu).
