Major figures in slapstick cinema of the 1920s and 1930s, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy left their mark on the history of cinema with their precision acting, sense of rhythm, and exceptionally effective comic timing.
On screen, a selection of restored short films will allow audiences to rediscover the finesse of their art. Accompanying the films, the orchestra will perform a symphonic score specially composed for them, reviving the tradition of musical screenings that, in the era of silent cinema, created a dialogue between images and music in a shared collective experience.
This film concert thus offers a demanding artistic and heritage-based approach, where the richness of the orchestral timbres illuminates the visual drama and highlights the undiminished modernity of this legendary duo. An encounter between cinema memory and symphonic interpretation.
